Rowe Referrals Equine Vision Centre is a dedicated Equine Ophthalmology referral service attached to the Rowe Veterinary Group equine department and is part of the Rowe Referrals Ophthalmology service. Set up in 2003 by senior Ophthalmologist and partner in the Rowe Vet Group, Tim Knott, the Vision Centre deals with a wide range of equine eye conditions from cataracts to cancer. This exciting clinic treats horses from all over the South West with vets with post-graduate qualifications in Ophthalmology

Services available include:

Corneal grafting and transplantation techniques, intra-ocular sustained delivery drug device implantation for the management of recurrent uveitis, ocular oncology, orbital prosthetic placement post enucleation, electro-retinography, slit lamp biomicroscopy, tonometry and ocular ultrasonography.

Other  services include cataract surgery and implantation of prosthetic intra-ocular lenses and laser surgery for the management of glaucoma.

The eye clinic invested in a new portable equine cataract  machine in 2008  revolutionising   intra-ocular surgery   in our equine patients.

Equine ophthalmology teaching provided at regular CPD day sessions and onsite at partner practices. One to one (free of charge) teaching offered and encouraged.
